A Tobacco Cessation Training Workshop was conducted for 269 Community Health Officers (CHOs), Medical and Dental Officers, Block Extension Educators (BEEs), and NTCP staff in Patiala, SBS Nagar, and Rupnagar. Held under the chairpersonship of the Civil Surgeon and led by the District Nodal Officer with support from the District Tobacco Control Cells, the workshop focused on sensitizing participants about their roles in tobacco cessation under the National Tobacco Control Program (NTCP). Additionally, one-on-one meetings were organized at the PHC and CHC levels in SBS Nagar and Rupnagar with CHOs to strengthen the referral system for tobacco users and explore ways to enhance its effectiveness.
